Auto savestate on shutdown causes guest to "aborted" state
Reported by: | LolleQ | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | VM control | Version: | VirtualBox 4.2.4 |
Keywords: | auto savestate shutdown | Cc: | |
Guest type: | Windows | Host type: | Linux |
Description
cat /etc/default/virtualbox:
VBOXWEB_USER=vbox VBOXWEB_HOST=127.0.0.1 VBOXAUTOSTART_DB=/srv/vbox/autostart VBOXAUTOSTART_CONFIG=/srv/vbox/autostart/autostart.conf SHUTDOWN_USERS=vbox SHUTDOWN=savestate
Machine sets to state "aborted" with error code ns_error_failure.
Saving state of the machine "by hand" works normal, restoring machine from "aborted" or "saved" works too. Autostart of the VM works also (after some major struggle with docs, config files and permissions). Maybe there's some problem with my autostart config, which (I admit) works thanks to kinda method of a blind man ;-)

Is this always reproducible? One reason could be that that guest takes too long to shutdown so the host finally kills the guest. A core dump could help debugging.
Nothing interesting here, but maybe someone find some clue?
